When you live in Texas, football is part of your DNA. So when the fall season rolls around everyone gets amped-up for Friday Night Lights.
It’s a chance for the community to get together and show their school spirit whether you’re in the stands, on the sidelines or on the field.
Moms know how hard kids practice during the weekday to make those Friday Nights Lights shine bright. It doesn’t matter if your athlete is playing on the middle school squad or the varsity team.
The sweat is all the same and the thirst is real.
That’s why we like to turn to POWERADE to help keep kids hydrated. It’s a great way to them power through the week during sports, band or cheer practice. It’s also the go-to sports drink to quench a family’s thirst while cheering on the home team at the big game.
I found plenty of POWERADE flavor varieties at my local Walmart in the sports drink aisle, along with a big selection of Coca-Cola and Coke Zero 12-pack cans and 8-pack plastic bottles. Since I have to pack up the cooler and the snacks in advance of the game, I thought I might come up with a few plays of my own to make our sports outing a little more special.
I found just the inspiration I needed at NotSoFastMom.com to get cute craft ideas to make sure we have the best season ever from practice to the playoffs.
Here’s a super easy Friday Night Lights Football Game Thirst Favor that I created with my scrapbook supplies. It’s also makes a thoughtful gesture to hand out during the tailgate or pass down the bleacher aisle to the other fans and parent boosters to keep them hydrated as they chant and cheer their team onto victory.
Football Game Thirst Favor:
1 pack of cellophane party bags
1-2 spools of curling ribbon
1 pack of football-themed stickers
1 sheet of football-themed scrapbook paper
Short typed message
Here’s what you do:
Cut scrapbook paper into fourths
Affix football sticker and typed message
Make a hole in the corner of the label
Thread ribbon through label hole
Tie around POWERADE bottle cap
Pour nuts and raisins into cellophane bag and affix to the ribbon and tie around the cap
Slide straw underneath the ribbon
Voilà! You’ve done it! This game day goody combined with the thirst-quenching power of POWERADE makes a winning combination for Friday Night Lights any day of the week.
